Zhonglin Tang

My name is Tang Zhonglin, Doctor, researcher, doctoral supervisor. I am currently the chief scientist of the “Pig Genome Design and Breeding Innovation Team” of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Executive Director of the Foshan Kunpeng Modern Agriculture Research Institute. From 2006 to 2017, I worked as an associate researcher and researcher at the Institute of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Beijing. From 2015 to 2016, I worked as a visiting scholar at Harvard Medical School. From December 2018 to May 2021, I was employed as the Director of the Animal Genome Research Center, Shenzhen Institute of Agricultural Genomics, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. In 2014, I was selected as the leading talent of the Ministry of Science and Technology’s “Innovative Talent Promotion Plan”, and in 2016, I was selected as the Leading talent of National Major Talent Project. I have presided over nearly 20 national, provincial and ministerial level projects, such as key and general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, 973 sub-projects, 863 key projects and major transgenic sub-projects. I have published more than 40 SCI papers in internationally renowned journals such as Genome Biology, Nucleic Acid Research, Journal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, etc. I have won one international invention patent. I have obtained 26 national invention patents, 29 software Copyrights and 1 utility model patent. As the main author, I have cultivated 3 new pig varieties and matching lines.
